Laravel 11 deployment solution by aMiSTACX
August 20th, 2024: CFT Update
A minor version of MySQL [8.0.31] was deprecated by AWS without notifying AMISTACX, and the hard-coded value impacted the deployment of a few stacks without our knowledge.
Upon finding out for ourselves, we updated to 8.0.37, but that engine impacted deployments too with a password issue.
A few customers may have been impacted over the past two days.
We have since rolled-back to 8.0.32, and asked AWS Marketplace to reach out to impacted customers. If you had a deployment issue, please re-try. If you need assistance, please use our contact form.

March 29th, 2024: Stack Updates
We have updated all of our stacks to meet new AWS listing guidelines, and took this opportunity to update version, patch the OS, and improve deployment, and post cleanup.
Of particular note are the deployments for Node Open Source, and Odoo 17 Community.
February 29th, 2024: G removal
Although a little dated, we removed Goog’s scripts for our email form authentication, and replaced with local server-side CAPTCHA. This should afford more privacy for our customers. Taking the BSG approach. We are very much “G” free with the exception of our Y/T channel.
February 25th, 2024: New deployment for Odoo Community
A new deployment for Odoo 17 is available on AWS Marketplace.
February 17th, 2024: Apache Commons Text Update
For deployments that depend on Apache Solr when used with Magento for catalog search you need to make sure that the jar file is updated to 1.10.0+
https://amistacx.io/patch-apache-commons-text-cve-2022-42889
January 18th, 2024: New deployment for Magento Open Source
We are very excited about our new AWS Marketplace deployment for Magento 2.4.6p3 Open Source. New features of this deployment stack are : 246p3 PHP 8.2 or 8.1, and the ability to make use of 245p4 PHP 8.1. All of our modules are also now compataible with PHP 8.2.
This is a very smooth deployment with amazing out-of-the-box performance. Take one for a test drive today!
January 1st, 2024: Happy New Year!
Now that holiday season is mostly behind us in the US, we can get our new deployment for Magento 2.4.6p3 out the door. Minor changes to this deployment will have PHP 8.2 as default.
October 30th, 2023: New deployment for Windows RDP
AWS requested sunsetting of our deployment package solution for Windows 2012 R2, and we have transitioned to Windows 2016 Server. Using older versions incorporates better privacy for the end user, and our deployment solution is only designed for remote management of AWS EC2s and RDS instances.
October 26th, 2023: New deployment for Odoo 16
aMiSTACX deployment package release v1.8 is only for Ubuntu OS maintenance.
October 14th, 2023: A51 ADS [Beta] is Available for Testing
A51-ADS: A very advanced automated bot shield called A51-ADS is now available. It works with A51, Cloudflare, and AWS Cloudwatch.
QnA Bot: Our QnA, MaceyBot, now is 100% Google-Free. Prior to today’s update, it had made use of Google fonts.
aMiSTACX opened a case with AWS a few months ago, and we worked with them to drive a more private QnA bot solution.
September 18th, 2023: A51 New Account Fix
During QA testing it was reported that the A51 new account creation sync operation to AWS resulted in an error. This error was the result of a previous update patch released last week. It has now been corrected. Please report any issues. Thank you!
September 15th, 2023: New instance types and flat rate pricing
We will be rolling out new instance classes types for all deployments. G6F deployment solutions will have a common type of: t3, t3a, m5, and c5. Some older deployments will continue to have t2, c4, and m4.
New AWS local zones with regions will also be added to certain deployments.
September 14th, 2023: New Deployment Package
Our new deployment for Laravel features new CFT options: React.JS, Node.JS, Database {local, remote, or none} and much more. A super-flexible deployment solution.
September 12th, 2023 : S3R-Alpha Fix for WordPress & t3a Instance Type
WordPress News: The S3R-Alpha was impacted by the AWS change to S3 that was implemented this past April. This appears to impact only the creation of a bucket from the WP dashboard, and not manually creating the S3 bucket; however, we have resolved the issue and released a new plugin update, v1.4.0.
AWS News: New t3a instance class has been added to select non-car deployments. Over the next two weeks expect the CFT deployments to allow the selection of the t3a instance type for EC2s. These t3as can reduce your AWS hosting costs by 10%.
August 30th, 2023: New Deployment Package
August 18th, 2023: New Deployment Package
Our new deployment package for Node.js allows an optional React.js install. Very convienent and time-saver.
August 12th, 2023: New A51 Billing Module
The A51 Billing Module is a must have feature. Now you can keep a close eye on your AWS costs directly from the A51 dashboard, and set alerts when billing thresholds are exceeded.
August 11th, 2023: New Deployment Package
This deployment will allow local Matomo uploads and when used with Apache and Cloudflare offers extend insight to local traffic from the Apache logs.
July 25th, 2023: aMiSTACX / AWS Hosting Cost Calculator
Amazon AWS recently changed their cost calculator, and the new design is very confusing. Plus, marketplace doesn’t show extras like RDS and EIP, so you can get a complete picture of estimated costs.
Our calculator is very basic, but will give you a general idea of what you can expect.
Tip! Use the calc from the app pages, the filter is pre-filled with defaults for the deployment.
July 11th, 2023 : New Versions!
*The magento stack fixed a Redis deployment issue.
June 26th, 2023 : New Versions!
June 6th, 2023 : New Deployments!

June 5th, 2023 : New stacks on the way!
We are working to get our revised deploy for Laravel 10 w/ RDS out, and also a new Node.js CFT deploy.
The laravel deployment will allow you to select database configurations of remote, local, or none.
May 25th, 2023 : New stack version!
We are very pleased to offer our new stack deploy for Magento 2.4.6 Open Source. This stack deploy is our prized migration stack, and we are happy to announce that it has also joined our S3 Titanium family.
Now you can install all of our Business & Performance modules designed for Magento 2 Open Source. Turnkey deploy in less than 30 minutes.
Module Issues:
Elasticsearch may cause StarFlare to have an issue with the Magento Admin Panel. Temp workaround is to clear the config:
sudo php bin/magento cache:flush config
We are working on permanent fix.
Compile or script CLI event errors may occur in aMiSTACX modules due to a header issue. We identified the issue, and will push a fix in a few days. These errors appear not to impact module operation. Fix has been pushed on 5/26.
May 14th, 2023 : Ramjet v1.2.1 Fix & S3R-Alpha v1.4.0 Fix
Symphony was updated and caused RJ to error post boost. Fix released in v1.2.1
AWS changed their bucket policy in April 2023, this impacted S3R-Alpha new programatic bucket creation in the module. Release v1.4.0 allows bucket creation from Magento’s Admin console.
May 6th, 2023 : New Site and new stack for Magento Open Source 2.4.6.
Site needed a refresh as most of our focus had been on our stacks and modules.
New stack for Magento 2.4.6 Open Source deployed on our S3 Titanium. New deployment features give you more granular control over the deployment, and we made a lot of improvements to post deployment processes to help speed and tighten security.
As a bonus, you can also select to deploy 2.4.5p2 then later manually upgrade to 2.4.6.
April 20th, 2023 : New stack for Magento Open Source
Happy to announce availability for Magento 2.4.6 Open Source. This stack deployment has some great new features in areas of secutity, performance, and deployment options. This stack features AWS RDS deployment and optional CloudWatch Agent.
February 28th, 2023 : Important!
This stack was released on Feb 27th, v3.4, and has a crontab missing a line ending. The result is the crontab will not function for Magento.
Add the line ending with Linux LF, and restart sudo service cron restart, or contact human support. A new v3.5 was submitted to AWS on Feb 28th to address this issue.

We updated our CFTs for WordPress to support the latest engines from MariaDB and AWS Aurora.
January 23rd, 2023 : New Stack Repos
Impacts our repos for Magento Open Source! In order to pass the restriction of IC not working correctly with Magento and PHP 8.x, we are switching to another vendor. Part of this process involves clearing our module repos. New stacks will point to new repos, and the old stacks will continuing using legacy loaders. Our modules encrypted, and using PHP 7.4 will point to EOL repos that will be cleared of history.
This may impact composer updates, and will require a few steps that we will outline in a future post. Thank you!

August 12th 2022 : New Stack Versions for Magento
August 10th, 2022 : Install Workaround
Should you receive a GIT error during install, it is because our stacks set root owner on the .git directory in vendor, while the rest of the project uses ww-data user/group. Root is set from cron in order to help prevent exploitation of GIT updates in clear text.
GIT was recently patched in April 2022 to close a vulnerability and this new patch causes a permissions check.
In future builds, we will add the exception automatically; however, you may need to explicitly add it:
sudo git config --global --add safe.directory /var/www/magento/vendor/amistacx/{module}

January 6th, 2020 : Update
All G3 and G4 stacks for Magento will now have EC2 class t3-small designated as the default deployment instance size. We will also be phasing-out the t2-micro class. The reason for these changes are Magento has grown in such size and resource utilization that using a t2-micro is just not feasible or stable.

sudo apt upgrade -y
#Be sure not to overwrite any php.ini files or any files that have been edited. When in doubt do a file comparesudo apt autoremove

July 2nd, 2019 – Cloudflare
Well not a great day for Cloudflare, and all of us that use it. A system outage due to a bad software deployment took out their primary and backups, and left half the Internet dark for about one long half hour today.
Our takeaway from this will be to move A51 to AWS Route 53. Although we still highly recommend Cloudflare, and will make use of it, we want to make sure our A51 management console is not impacted by another Cloudflare outage. That would be like salt in a wound. As today we couldn’t even access A51.
Maybe in the future we will also offer our own CDN, and to devise a way to split DNS. This way one single system won’t knock out all of our services. After all, we do build High Availability systems, but as many know, DNS is still the choke point for the ENTIRE Internet.
